AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after possible human remains were found near the River Salwarpe in Droitwich.
The area was cordoned off as officers were called to the scene around 9pm on Friday.
Most of the bones were identified as coming from animals apart from one.
Police say it is believed to have been generations old and further tests are now being carried out.
A cordon has been put in place while investigations continue.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We would like to reassure residents the human bone is not believed to be linked to any ongoing investigations but enquiries are ongoing to determine the nature of findings.
