A NUMBER of schools across Droitwich are closed today, due to the heatwave and following the Met Office’s red weather warning.
Temperatures are predicted to reach 36C later today and headteachers have taken the decision to ensure the safety of pupils and staff.
Chawson First School, Droitwich Spa High, Hildlip CE First School and Tibberton are all shut both today and tomorrow.
They will reopen on Wednesday.
Due to the extreme temperatures, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will be closed for Pre-school, Reception and Year 1 on Monday and Tuesday.
