Furious Droitwich family hits out at Platform Housing after dying dad is left with no boiler

A FAMILY from Droitwich have been left furious at Platform Housing Group after leaving their dying father without heat or water for three weeks.

Deborah Wyton was desperate for her dad’s boiler to be fixed, and felt he had been left behind by the company.

“My Father was diagnosed as needing palliative and end of life care a few weeks ago.

“He is at home in Droitwich, a house that is rented from Platform Housing Group and where my Father has lived for the last 54 years.

“We have been having problems with the boiler in his house, it keeps losing pressure and cutting out.

“The fault may be down to a leaking radiator pipe which was reported three weeks ago as a priority, which still has not been fixed.”

She said the provider had said they did not have the parts but claimed she looked for them and found them available both in shops and online.

Deborah said her family were now resorting to solving the matter themselves.

“My nephew has looked at getting and paying for a plumber, as we can’t leave my father in this state any loner.

“As a family we are caring for my father at home as is his wish, but our task is being made all the very much more taxing because of the lack of compassion from a business that only care about making money for their shareholders.”

A spokesperson from Platform Housing Group said the issue had been resolved and they were sorry for any upheaval caused.
