CYCLISTS have the opportunity to get their bikes protected for nothing at an event in Droitwich, writes Mia Batley.
Wychavon District Council’s community safety team will be in St Andrews Square from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday, May 29, to offer advice on keeping bikes safe.
Riders can get their bikes marked with a unique code which will then be registered on a national database.
If the bike is then stolen it will be easier for police to trace and return to the owner.
Coun Gerry O’Donnell, Wychavon’s executive board member with responsibility for community safety, said: “Cycling is a great way to stay fit and healthy, and bike marking will give cycle owners peace of mind.”
There is no need to book, cyclists can just turn up with their bikes.
