THE FIRST ever charity doughnut dash will be taking place next month with a delicious reward.

St Richard’s Hospice is holding a 5k and 10k event on September 22 when finishers will be treated to a delicious glazed ring Krispy Kreme doughnut and a doughnut medal.

Participants can run, jog or walk the course which is set in Norton Village, Worcester and surrounding areas and raise funds for the Worcestershire hospice.

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days.

Participants are asked to pledge to raise £20 or more for the charity before the event.

St Richard’s fund-raiser Jayne Sargeant said: “We’ve already had a fantastic response to the Doughnut Dash, with hundreds tempted by a tasty treat at the end!

“The Doughnut Dash is a fun twist on a 5k and 10k and will be great for individuals, friends and families to take part and support our care.”

The event starts at 10am from Norton Parish Hall. Entry for adults is £14 under 16 years and £7 in advance.

On the day registrations will begin at 9am until 9.45am with prices for adults at £18 and under 16 years £10.

St Richard’s will be providing vegan and gluten-free options for advance bookings.
