THE weekly tennis sessions got under way again on Saturday at Droitwich Lido Park – and it was an overwhelming first session with 52 players of all ages turning out to enjoy the sport.
The sessions continue this Saturday (April 10) on a £3 per person ‘pay as you play’ basis.
No membership is required and there are no joining fees.
Plenty of Covid-safe equipment is available or people can bring their own.
Juniors aged eight and under play from 9am to 10am, the second session from 10am to 11am is for those aged nine and over and adults can take to the court from 11am to midday.
Walking tennis – the slower version of the game – starts at 2pm this Friday (April 9).
A spokesperson for Droitwich Tennis in the Lido Park said: “We are keen to set up more groups to get even more people in the community playing, and if the demand is there, we will do our very best to make this happen.”
