SPA RESIDENTS are being urged to check out proposals to build 163 homes on a greenfield site off Chawson Lane in Salwarpe.
And those interested have until February 27 to submit any views or comments they want to put forward about the planned
development.
An exhibition detailing the properties will be held at Salwarpe Village Hall from 5pm to 8pm on Friday (February 6).
The application can also be viewed on the planning section of the Wychavon District Council website – www.wychavon.gov.uk – and the reference for the application is W/14/02812/OU.
Coun Richard Morris said: “The scheme is on top of the major multi-use sites at Copcut Rise and Yew Tree Hill, both of which have been approved (the latter was sadly lost at appeal).
“They would effectively link Droitwich to the historic conservation area of Salwarpe with a continuous block of housing and commercial development.
“Many concerns have already been raised about the south of the town being swamped with new developments, with inadequate infrastructure, impact on the surrounding countryside and an already congested road network being highlighted.”
