Exhibition of Tibetan gongs and 'sound therapy' to be held in Droitwich

Tristan Harris 10th Feb, 2017   0

AN EXHIBITION on ‘The Tibetan Gongs’ will take place at Droitwich’s Canal Side Studios between 1.30pm and 3.30pm tomorrow (Saturday).

Antony Blakemore will demonstrate the meditative and healing power of the ancient instruments which will include the gongs, singing bowls and Shamanic drums.

Visitors are also urged to take along any drums they no longer use to start a ‘drumming circle’ in Droitwich.

Antony Blakemore, who describes gong meditation and healing as a ‘very deep massage’, regularly holds ‘Gong Baths’ in Droitwich at Rotary House.

A gong bath is a form of sound therapy where the gong is played in a therapeutic way to bring about healing – people are bathed in the sound waves from the gongs rather than water.

Justine Humphries, from the Canal Side Studios, said: “These are amazing instruments and it is worth coming down to witness the power of the gong for yourself.”
