SALT Fest will be bringing plenty of family fun to the people of Droitwich this weekend.

The popular two-day event, which celebrates the town’s unique salt heritage, will get under way at 10.30am tomorrow (Saturday) when Coun Lynne Duffy and Mayor Bob Brookes officially open the event.

Updates on the weekend’s agenda have been released this week, including the announcement of the portfolio display of pictures taken by high school students during the summer break of their interpretation of ‘the street’ in Droitwich.

The pictures will be on display on a large screen, provided by Brown and Fincher, in St Andrew’s church on the Saturday.

Another highlight has been confirmed which will be the ‘paint a masterpiece in ten minutes’ competition taking place outside St Andrew’s church.

Adults as well as children will be able to participate and prizes will be awarded by the mayor at 3.30pm.

The Norbury Theatre has offered two tickets for the opening night of Scrooge the Musical as the prize for the adults.

Among the attractions on Sunday (September 14), will be the blues and jazz afternoon, with real ale and cider bars, farm animal corner for youngsters, canal boat trips, a dog show and a duck race.
