Elderly woman seriously injured after being hit by a car in Droitwich

AN ELDERLY woman has been hit by a car in Droitwich town centre earlier this afternoon.

The 77-year-old was struck around 12.15pm in Victoria Square.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene.

The woman suffered serious leg injuries in the incident and has been taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.




West Mercia Police are also in attendance and have urged witnesses or anyone with information should call police on 101.

Travel Alert

Because of road closures, bus users should be aware the 144 to Worcester is diverting from Saltway direct over the roundabout at Covercroft to remain on Saltway before turning right to resuming normal route on Worcester Road. The stops at Ombersley Street East, Victoria Square and Raven Hotel are currently not served.


Services to Bromsgrove, Catshill and Birmingham are diverting from Worcester Road via Queen Street. Buses are unable to serve the stop at Victoria Square.
