THE MID WORCESTERSHIRE branch of the Green Party has named its candidate, following a hustings in Evesham last month.

Neil Franks, who is originally from the North East of England, has lived in Droitwich for almost ten years.

He is married to Chrissy and haas two young children.

He said he cares passionately about the environment and fairness in society and joined the Green Party to get something done about those issues which he felt the other parties ignored.

“We have such a glorious countryside with its picturesque villages and our two historical towns Droitwich and Evesham.

“I hope I can show the people the Green Party and myself will fight for them and the splendid environment where we live.” he added.

Norbert Tucker, the local Green Party chairman, said: “Neil is a first rate candidate and we are lucky to have him.

“He really has a grasp of the important issues facing us and he believes that we can make things better if we try.”

As well as being the Green candidate, he is a member of Transition Worcester and a governor at Chawson First School, where his son attends.

Neil runs his own sustainability consultancy company which provides services to the construction industry.

In his freetime, he likes going to the local park with his children and going for family walks in the countryside.

Also contesting the seat will be the Conservative’s Nigel Huddleston, Labour’s Robin Lann, UKIP’s Richard Keel and Liberal Democrat Margaret Rowley.
