STAFF and pupils at Chawson First School will be bidding a fond farewell to much-loved teacher Mrs Thornton after almost three decades.

Mrs Thornton has had a huge impact on the lives of hundreds of children and has created many happy memories of Droitwich families during her 32-year teaching career – 27 of those at Chawson.

Headteacher Nicola Peck said: “Those that have been blessed to be taught by her will have fond memories for life.

“She has inspired many generations of new teachers and will always be a part of Chawson First School.’

Mrs Thornton added: “Chawson is an amazing school.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed spending 27 years of my life working with an incredible group of children and their families. The staff here have been inspirational, and I shall miss it all so much.”
