AS WELL as the biggest ever lights switch-on the Spa has ever seen, Saturday also saw the launch of Droitwich’s second annual Christmas Tree Festival.

The event in St Andrew’s Church features 21 trees which represent various charities, social groups and young people’s groups.

They will all remain illuminated with colour and decorations in the weeks up to Christmas, bringing a joyful message from so many groups to the wider community which they serve.

Christmas Tree Festival organiser Val Hawley said: “It truly gets everyone in the Christmas mood and I hope people will come to see the trees when they are passing by.”

Eunice Williams, who helps at the Kingfield Centre, said: “I really enjoyed the Christmas trees last year and I was so pleased when the Challengers group was able to bring their decorated tree along and be part of the celebrations.”
