Droitwich town centre to be given a 'deep clean' by Wychavon District Council

DROITWICH town centre will be given a deep clean by Wychavon District Council, writes Evie Hartwell.

The FCC Environment tean will be out on force using specialist equipment to scrub the pavements to remove dirt, stains and chewing gum.

The deep cleanse of the district began in Pershore last week and will also be carried out in Evesham and Broadway as well as Droitwich Spa to keep the areas clean, green and safe.

More than £1.5million is spent on street-cleaning each year and Wychavon has also invested £30,000 in a three-year campaign to reduce litter.

Emma Stokes, the council’s portfolio holder for Environment, Recycling and Street Scene, said: “FCC Environment does an amazing job at maintaining high standards of cleanliness in our town centre.

“I would like to thank them for their hard work and I know people will notice a difference in our community.”
