Droitwich Specsavers' Christmas appeal for town's Foodbank runs until Christmas Eve

Droitwich Editorial 20th Dec, 2018   0

RESIDENTS have until Christmas Eve to give to Droitwich Specsavers’ donation appeal for the town’s Foodbank.

The opticians in St Andrews Square – a long-time Foodbank supporter – has been donating a trolley a day in a bid to beat last year’s record of 400kg worth of supplies.

Store director Emma Singh said: “This year we wanted to do something slightly different for the Foodbank by doing an advent-inspired countdown.

“We’ve always been so impressed with the local community’s donations and although it will be a challenge we know we can hit our target.”

Among the items people can donate are long-life fruit juice, milk, instant mashed potato, soup, cereal and tinned goods, such as meat, fish and fruit.
