TICKETS to a special concert celebrating Droitwich Spa High School’s 35th anniversary of making music go on sale today (Friday).
The event, on April 30, will see more than 50 past and present students and staff from the school come together to showcase their talents.
Former pupils will be journeying back to the Spa from as far away as Tenerife, Germany, Spain and Ireland to join the school’s current music-makers, which includes everything from larger ensembles to soloists.
It follows an appeal from the school for anyone who has had an association with its music department since it opened in 1981 to get in touch.
The evening promises to be a trip down memory lane for everyone involved, especially the school’s head of music Kevin Dowson.
“I am really looking forward to seeing so many faces from the past and enabling everyone to make music in a move to inspire our young musicians of the future,” said Mr Dowson.
“The lavish production, to be held in the school theatre, will create an atmospheric, memorable show for all concerned.”
All proceeds from the concert will go towards promoting music making in years to come throughout the Droitwich pyramid of schools.
Tickets – costing £15 for adults and £10 for concessions – are strictly limited to 180 and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Visit https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/buytickets.
