Droitwich schools and buses to be affected by strikes

Droitwich Editorial 9th Jul, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

PARENTS and bus users are being warned to look out for school closures and transport alterations tomorrow (Thursday) as public service workers go on strike.

Council employees will be among those taking industrial action over pay, pensions and working conditions.

In Droitwich, Westacre Middle School will be closed to year 7 pupils, but it will be open for all those in years 5 and 6.

It is likely that six bus services operating in the Spa could be affected.

Among them will be the 17 which runs on a circular route from the town centre to Cockshute Hill, the 18 which runs from Droitwich to the town centre and the 20 which goes to Hampton Lovett.

The 19 services, which operate on a circular route via Oaklands Avenue, Tagwell Road, Meadows Estate, Primsland Way, The Ridings and Chawson, could also be hit.
