Droitwich Police welcome jail term for man 'caught driving several times' despite being disqualified

Droitwich Editorial 7th Sep, 2021   0

A DISQUALIFIED driver who has been caught several times despite being banned has been jailed for six months.

George Morrissey has also had his driving ban extended to 27 months.

Morrissey, from Inkberrow, was sentenced at Kidderminster Magistrates Court after being caught driving while disqualified several times between April and this month.

The sentence has been welcomed by PC Sam Hughes, from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team, who said: “George Morrisey has shown a blatant disregard for the law over the past six months, he has been caught driving several times but has continued to drive.

“Hopefully today’s sentence will prove a deterrent to Morrissey when he is released from prison and will send a message to any other individual who does not have a driving licence that they could be sent to prison”
