OFFICERS from Droitwich Police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team responded to reports of suspected drug use near the town’s Copcut Park and Chawson and found this haul of substances.

The drugs were discovered yesterday, having been buried in the ground and hidden in the bushes.

Forensic officers have now been carry out examinations in a bid to glean DNA and fingerprint evidence.

It is unsure how much the street value will be as the substances still need to be tested but it is predicted it will run into thousands of pounds.

PCSO Steven Tinkler told The Standard: “We believe it is one of the biggest drug seizures in Droitwich, particularly in that area of town.

“It’s not something we normally come across.

“The good news is those drugs are off the streets so they cannot cause any harm to anyone.

“And there will be a dealer out there who is very unhappy this morning.”

Anyone with any information on who the drugs belong to should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
