DROITWICH Foodbank and the Salvation Army have been given a festive boost so they can bring Christmas cheer to more people in the town.
The funds were donated by the Droitwich United Charities (DUC), an amalgamation of a number of trusts set up some time ago.
The organisation’s chairman Coun Richard Morris said: “We aim to provide small grants to individuals and organisations within the boundaries of Droitwich Spa, essentially supporting those who struggle to exist in everyday life.
“It is a great way to support people in Droitwich.”
In the past the DUC has donated to nursing homes, victims of flooding and given school uniforms and equipment for the disabled.
“The Foodbank and Salvation Army do a massive amount of good in Droitwich across all ages but especially supporting those in need.”
