DROITWICH Spa and District Horticultural Society’s Annual Flower Show proved to be as popular as ever with guests celebrating its 70th year on bank holiday Monday.
The dry weather meant crowds flocked through the gates at Droitwich Sports Centre to see spectacular flower displays, fruit and vegetables, show-stopping bakes and homemade crafts.
In the main hall 500 exhibits were set up by society members, exhibitors and friends and there was also fun for all the family, including a Punch and Judy show and a blackboard art competition, providing entertainment for the whole family.
Awards were presented to growers of the best fruit, vegetables and flowers by Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Coun Christine Bowden.
Pete Chamberlain received the ‘Dares Challenge Cup’ for the most points in the show before the day concluded with a produce auction and a raffle draw.
A spokesperson from the society thanked everyone who helped out over the weekend, the exhibitors for taking part and visitors to the show.
The society will be holding its Autumn Show on September 15 at Chawson Barns, New Chawson Lane, Droitwich.
