A CLASSATHON held by Julie Liggins Fitness in memory of member Nicki Wismer who took her own life last year raised more £3,651 for mental health charity MIND.
The event saw 13 classes held across the whole day and £3,190 was collected from donations and sponsorships with £1,000 contributed from Caroline Hornberger of Ernst and Young.
Physique Fitness Gym and Verve Kickboxing also joined in the fund-raising by holding fancy dress powerlifting and kickboxing sessions raising an extra £460.90 to get the grand total.
A two-hour ZumbaBeatzathon, also held last month by Julie Liggins Fitness, raised £400 towards the campaign for Oscar Saxelby-Lee.
Julie, who has been raising funds in memory of Nicki for the past 12 months, said: “Everyone was so generous – I can’t believe we raised so much for these two great causes.”
