Droitwich Arts Network exhibition gets under way at Hanbury Hall

Droitwich Editorial 18th Oct, 2018   0

THE ANNUAL exhibition by the Droitwich Arts Network (DAN) has returned to Hanbury Hall’s Long Gallery and runs until November 3.

The DAN collection features a wide variety of works by over 100 local artists in a mix of media ranging from painting to textiles to poetry.

During the three-week display, DAN members will steward the event whilst demonstrating artworks, including spinning, weaving, knitting and more.

Live musical performances will also entertain visitors.

Many exhibitors will be selling greetings cards as a memento of the exhibition.

A group of poets are planning on visiting the exhibition, led by former Worcestershire Poet Laureate Nina Lewis to create works inspired by the pieces on display.

Visitors can vote on their favourite pieces and, as it takes place over half term, there will be a separate voting category for children as well as adults with an awards ceremony scheduled for November.

DAN chairman Helen Karakashian said the annual DAN exhibition had become a firm favourite of many Hanbury Hall visitors.

Entry to the exhibition is free for National Trust members but non-members will have to pay the standard visitors’ entry fee.

The hall will be open daily from 1pm to 5pm.

Visit droitwichartsnetwork.org for more information on the exhibition and nationaltrust.org.uk/hanbury-hall for more on the historic home and gardens.
