A DROITWICH amateur actor who has appeared in productions at the Norbury Theatre is one of the stars of a quirky Valentine’s fire safety video.
Carl Smythe, who appeared in the panto Beauty and the Beast among others, plays a romantic man in ‘Date Night Disaster’.
The 1min 30sec film, created by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, centres around a man who, whilst entertaining his partner, has a glass of wine or two and forgets about a pan on the stove, leading to a house fire.
Station Commander Stuart Crebbin said: “Leaving pans unattended, drinking alcohol whilst cooking, and being generally distracted could result in a recipe for disaster and potentially a devastating house fire.”
He urged residents to never leave cooking unattended, avoid having a tipple while cooking and to clean ovens and grills as burnt on food can ignite and potentially spoil the romantic evening.
The fire service also warn lovebirds to be careful with candles while they are enjoying their romantic nights in.
