Driver rescued after 4x4 became stranded at Shell Ford

A MOTORIST had to be rescued after the vehicle he was driving became stranded at Shell Ford near Himbleton.

The 4×4 was caught out by the fast-flowing water which was 3ft deep around the time of the incident which took place at 3.05pm on Saturday afternoon (January 3).

Firefighters from Droitwich and Pershore were sent to the scene and an inflatable rescue boat was used to get the driver and vehicle to safety.

The situation was resolved by 3.30pm and firefighters left the scene just after 4pm.
