Driver air-lifted to hospital after serious crash on the A449 in Ombersley

A DRIVER was cut from a car and airlifted to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital after a serious crash in Ombersley this morning.

The collision, involving two cars, happened on the A449 near the Mitre Oak pub at around 6.45am.

Fire crews from Stourport and Kidderminster worked to free the motorist from the vehicle before they were given trauma care at the scene and flown to hospital.

 




As well as the Midlands Air Ambulance, two ambulances and a paramedic officer also attended.

 


The other person involved was checked over at the scene before being discharged.

 

The road was closed while police carried out an investigation into what happened.
