A RALLYING call has been made to residents by the Droitwich branch of Age UK to help older people across the Spa who live alone or will be having a difficult time this Christmas.
The branch will be creating Christmas hampers, which will include a winter warmer pack of a fleece blanket, flask, hot water bottle, neck warmer, thermal socks, hand warmer, thermometer, woolly hat, gloves, a reusable bag and Christmas food.
Those behind the scheme are seeking donations of food to put in the hamper.
Among the suggested donations are tinned soup, baked beans, tins of meat or fish, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, small Christmas puddings, cakes and mince pies.
Jan Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Age UK Droitwich Spa, said “We are urging people in Droitwich Spa and the surrounding area to spread a little cheer this Christmas and New Year by donating food items for our Christmas Hampers.”
Donations should be taken to Age UK Droitwich Spa, Severn House, 32 Ombersley Street West.
Staff will be on hand to accept items between 9am and 1pm Monday to Thursday.
They need to be in by Thursday (December 10).
