CYCLISTS in Droitwich can have their bikes marked for free this Thursday to keep them safe from thieves.
The session, organised by Wychavon District Council, takes place between 1pm and 4pm on Thursday, June 25, at the Lido Park Car Park.
Bike marking sees a unique identifiable number applied to the frame of the bike which is then registered with the National Bike Register Database.
It reduces the risk of a bike being stolen and if it is taken, it makes it easier to report and find it again so riders can be reunited with their bicycle.
The events will follow social distancing guidelines at all times. Slots of 15 minutes will be available and booking is essential.
Coun Rob Adams, Portfolio Holder for Community Engagement, Culture and Sport at Wychavon District Council, said: “These free bike marking events will give residents peace of mind that if their property is ever stolen or lost, there is a greater chance of being reunited.”
To book a slot, call Kamil Ambroziak on 01684 862420 or email [email protected].
Should the session be fully booked on Thursday, the council will endeavour to arrange a suitable alternative.
