Countdown begins to Droitwich Festival season

Droitwich Editorial 29th May, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

THE COUNTDOWN has begun for this summer’s Droitwich Festival season.

In three weeks time – on June 20 – renowned food writers and critics Tom Parker-Bowles and Charles Campion – will officially get the events under way and, once again, there is a packed schedule.

Organisers are hoping to build on the success of last year, when Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival was named as one of just three finalists in the Visit Worcestershire Awards.

Organiser Patrick Davis said: “This year’s festival is building up to be a fantastic event with 120 local food and drink producers already signed up.”

There will also be a food demonstration kitchen, a catering food village in Victoria Square, a Kids Food Zone and street entertainment throughout the day.

This year will also see the first ever Droitwich Beer and Cider Festival take place in Vines Park – that will be on Sunday, June 21.

“There really will be something for everyone – it’s going to be a great opening weekend,” added Patrick.

The Droitwich Spa Summer Festival is run by a committee of representatives from Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival, For Droitwich Spa, Droitwich Arts Network and Wychavon District Council.
