Councillor organises meeting for Droitwich Central residents to have their say on issues

Droitwich Editorial 25th Mar, 2022   0

RESIDENTS living in Droitwich Central ward can have their say on a number of issues and get updates on the area at a community meeting organised by the local councillor John Hartley.

At the get-together – at the Riflemans Arms between 6pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 30 – people will be able to raise any concerns they have about the local area and it will also be a chance to discuss proposed boundary changes which have been put forward.

The independent Boundary Review takes into account many different factors in a bid to level up wards population-wise.

Coun Hartley said: ““It would be a great shame if the historic ward of Droitwich Central is carved up, but it may be the only way to accommodate the growing electorate in the town to ensure parity with other wards across the district.”

“I grew up in the ward, so I would be especially sad to see it go. If it is abolished, then it has certainly been a privilege to serve as its last representative.”

Coun Hartley also chairs the district’s Carbon Reduction Strategy Group.
