AN OUT of control dog has attacked and injured a teenager’s dog as he was walking it in the Lido Park.

The 14-year-old boy was walking along the path about 11.40am last Friday (June 3) when a rottweiler crossed with a Staffordshire bull terrier with brown patches started barking at him.

It tried to bite the boy on his left leg but he was able to jump out of the way. It then turned on the other dog and bit him on his tail and his left hind leg.

The owner of the out of control pet was a white woman of a large build, in her 40s with dark hair. She wore blue jeans and was seen with a young boy, about 11-years-old, and a girl of about eight.

Investigating officer PC Allcock said: “This was a terrifying incident for a young boy and his pet.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything to please come forward.

“Likewise, I would advise dog owners to ensure their animals are kept under control when in public places.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
