YOUNGSTERS from Droitwich’s St Peter’s C of E Academy have been dressing up as their favourite book characters today for World Book Day.
Through the ‘Share a Story’ event pupils were also encouraged to bring in the books they loved so they could share them with their friends.
And the children were given a book token to spend at the book fair which is visiting the school.
It was a very colourful day as youngsters came as Rapunzel, the BFG, the Cat in the Hat, the Hobbit and countless other characters.
Deputy headteacher Lucy Colclough said: “World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and, most importantly, it’s a celebration of reading.
“The day is about getting the children closer to the books and authors they already love, and letting them discover more books and authors they’ll love every bit as much in the future.”
