DROITWICH Police are warning those carrying illegal substances that steps are being taken to combat drug-related crime.

The vow from PC Richard Rees from the Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team follows an incident on Tuesday night.

Class A drugs, thought to be crack cocaine and heroin, and £200 in cash were discovered after officers stopped and searched an 18-year-old on Trent Close.

PC Rees said: “The Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team is focusing a lot of its time to combat this type of crime.

“It is pleasing to see the support we have been getting from the local community.

“We are acting on the information which is being provided and it is no coincidence that arrests like this are being made.”

He urged anyone with any information on drug-related crime to call the local policing team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The man arrested on Tuesday, Aston Robinson, of Roslin Grove, Newtown, Birmingham, was due to appear before Kidderminster Magistrates today.
