Cannabis plants and growing equipment seized by police in Droitwich

A QUANTITY of cannabis plants and growing equipment has been seized by police in Droitwich.

Reports were made to officers of a pungent smell coming from the address in Coppice Way and at midday today, after the police successfully applied for a warrant and forced entry, they found the stash in two upstairs bedrooms.

PC Richard Rees from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) praised the public for passing on the information and urged any other residents who had concerns about properties in their area to get in touch.

“It can be reported anonymously but if possible make contact with your local Safer Neighbourhood Team so we can discuss the matter with you.”

“We will not ask you for statements, we just want the information and we will always look to take positive action.”

He added the police worked closely with partner agencies.

The property belonged to Fortis Housing which has been notified and is considering enforcement action.

“The message is very clear. If your property is used for criminality such as this you are likely to lose your house as well as face any criminal proceedings,” said PC Rees.

Anyone with any information on drugs in their area should contact Droitwich SNT on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
