Business breakfast raises more than £2,000 for the Stoke Prior Tower Appeal

MORE THAN £2,000 has been raised for the Stoke Prior Tower Appeal was raised through a business breakfast.

The event, which was held at the Church of St Michael and All Angels, was attended by over 50 representatives from local companies, along with the Bishop of Worcester, Rev John Inge.

They tucked into a full English breakfast and listened to guest speaker Robin Walker who has been the MP for Worcester since 2010 and a Minister in the Government’s department for exiting the EU.

Mr Walker also took questions afterwards and Rev Wyn Benyon, the priest in charge of Stoke Prior Church, welcomed guests and said grace.

Jerroms, the Stoke Prior-based accountancy firm, sponsored the event and Mongoose Limited, the owners of Corbett Business Park, donated £1,000 which meant more than £2,000 in total was collected.

The Grade I listed 12th century church, renovated by Salt King John Corbett in the 19th century, has suffered structural damage with the tower falling into a particularly dangerous state.

It began in 2015 and more than £60,000 has already been collected.

The Tower Friends continue tirelessly to raise funds for the repairs.
