A BRAND new bike shed at Droitwich’s Witton Middle School was officially opened by British number one 4x pro-rider Scott Beaumont.

Scott, from Kidderminster, has been racing from a very young age and gave an inspirational talk to the pupils about his passion for the sport and career highlights.

Headteacher Suzie Bourne said: “When the student council approached the Governing Body with the proposal for a new bike shed with larger capacity and better weather protection, they agreed immediately.

“Many of our children take part in Bikeability lessons and learn how to ride to and from school safely alongside other road users.

“It is a great way to exercise and it was important that children could store their bikes securely at school. ”

She added it was great to have Scott officially open the new bike shed and inspire the children.
