A SAVE a Baby first aid course is being held at Droitwich Sports and Leisure Centre on June 20.

The session, being run by Droitwich Lifesaving Club, takes place at 7pm and is free as it is part of the Royal Life Saving Society community outreach courses.

The club’s training officer Louise Meeson said: “Anyone can learn the basic skills to save a life in a short time.

“Young children and babies can become very poorly in a short period of time and knowing what to do in an emergency can buy valuable time whilst waiting for professional emergency services.”

There are 16 places available on the Save A Baby Course. To register your intrest in the course or for futher information about or to join the club email [email protected]

Droitwich Lifesaving Club also runs both basic and advanced Royal Lifesaving Society Courses, starting in September 2018.

They will teach the techniques to rescue someone who has got into difficulty in water, along with techniques used if a family member or stranger irrespective of age has had a heart attack, has stopped breathing or become unwell.

The Lifesaving club also teaches its members how to deal with choking, bleeding, shock, and hypothermia.

The club, which meets at 6pm on Sunday nights at Droitwich Leisure Centre, is also looking for anyone who may be interested in volunteering or teaching at the club.

Experience is not needed as training can be provided.
