A DROITWICH community group which meets every Thursday to help people build friendships, combat isolation and loneliness and build confidence has launched an appeal for volunteers.
The Droitwich Friendship Group was formed in 2019 and moved outside to the Droitwich Lido Park during the pandemic but it has recently moved indoors into the CVS at the Old Library for the winter months.
Volunteers at the sessions – which take place between 1pm and 2.30pm – help set up, welcome new members and signpost people to other local activities as well as closing down and packing away afterwards.
Members who attend describe it is a ‘lifeline’ and after initially being shy, come out of themselves and become really sociable.
Anyone able to volunteer should email [email protected] and visit onside-advocacy.org.uk for more about the group and services.
