EVENTS

The Palace Theatre Heritage Project presents a week of summer holiday alien encounters for children at The Palace Theatre, Redditch, on Monday (July 28), at various times. Booking is essential as places are limited and for more information call the Palace Theatre Box Office on 01527 65203.

There will be an Alien Activity workshop for children at Forge Mill Needle Museum, Redditch, on Tuesday (July 29), between 1pm and 3pm. In addition, there will be another Alien Activity workshop where children can create a felt alien mask and decorate a flying saucer at Forge Mill Needle Museum on Wednesday (July 30), between 10am and 12pm and between 1pm and 3pm. Places are bookable for both workshops and for more information telephone 01527 62509.

There will be a tea dance with a variety of music for ballroom, latin and sequence dancing at the Spadesbourne Suite, Bromsgrove District Council House, Burcot Lane, on Wednesday (July 30), from 2pm until 4pm. There will be a talk on 'Saranachris - The Story of a Garden' hosted by John Morgan at Rubery Library, Birmingham, on Thursday (July 31), between 7pm and 9pm. Admission costs £1 and for more information call 0121 453 2157.

There will be a stamp and postcard sale at Webheath Village Hall, Redditch, on the last Saturday of the month from 10am to 3pm.

CLUBS AND GATHERINGS

Barnt Green Sailing Club, Upper Bittell Reservoir, presents Sailboards - three races starting at 11am and two afternoon class dinghy races with 1st gun at 2.24pm. There will also be the late Pursuit Series for all club classes on Wednesday (July 30) with first gun at 6.54pm.

Cruse Bereavement Care run a friendship club in Droitwich on the first Tuesday of the month. For more information call 07720 953605. There is also a bereavement club in Redditch on the last Tuesday of each month and for more information call 07840 627410.
