DETECTIVES investigating the death of Droitwich man Adrian Locke in Worcester earlier this month are keen to trace a cyclist who may have key information about the case.
Officers have urged the cyclist, described as a white man in 30s or 40s, who bumped into Mr Locke in the hours before he was brutally murdered to come forward and help them with their investigation.
Police believe Mr Locke was riding his bike on the afternoon of January 2 when he hit the cyclist near the shops on Rose Avenue.
Witnesses say he was knocked off his bike and the other cyclist went to the nearby shops and bought Mr Locke a bottle of brandy to apologise.
The 39-year-old, of Wych Road, Droitwich, was found later that day by paramedics with stab wounds outside 42a Teme Road in Tolladine.
Despite their efforts, Mr Locke was confirmed dead at the scene by a doctor a short while later.
Micah Golding, of Cross Farm Road, Harborne was charged with the murder of Mr Locke as well as two counts of conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine from 42a Teme Road, Worcester between December 1 last year and January 3.
The drugs charges allege he conspired with Rafael Marks, 20, of Nooklands Croft, Birmingham who was charged with the same drug offences as well as possession of an illegal firearm, which relates to an offence from May 2011 in Birmingham.
Detective Sergeant Pete Sherwood said: “We are currently piecing together Adrian Locke’s movements on the day he was stabbed and we have been told by a number of witnesses about this incident.
“We would like to speak to the gentleman involved as he may have some information that could prove useful to our investigation,” he added.
Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101.
