Couples are being invited to Droitwich Methodist Church. (s)
COUPLES who tied the knot at a well-known Droitwich church are being invited to renew their association with the venue for a special service next month.
As part of its 75th anniversary celebrations, Droitwich Methodist Church would like couples to revisit the Worcester Road venue and attend a Marriage Celebration Service on February 10 at 10.30am.
The event will also be held during National Marriage Week and staff at the church hope to welcome as many couples as possible to the service.
Couples who live locally will be contacted but the church has appealed for help in getting in touch with those who have moved house or out of the area since they were married at the church.
Anyone who was married or who knows someone who was married at the church is asked to e-mail droitwichmethodistchurch@btinternet.com or call the office on 01905 774188.
The service is just part of a packed programme of events which have been put together in 2013 to mark the 75th anniversary of the building of the Methodist Church on its current site.
A launch service to formally kick-off a year of celebration will be held at the church on January 27 and will see Droitwich mayor Coun Anne Taft in attendance.
Anyone who was baptised at the church is also invited to attend a service on Pentecost Sunday (May 19) while four special themed prayer events will also he held.
A Festival of Creativity weekend on June 28 to 30, an exhibition of the garments of Gethsemene in November and a celebration concert on December 7 are also on the menu.
Rev. Jane Wilson said: "We are also investigating suggestions for a community event and a more permanent legacy for our local community."
