THERE was more than just food to choose from at a store in Droitwich as shoppers were given the chance to donate to one of three good causes in the town.

Droitwich Waterways Trust, Droitwich Spa Arts Network and Droitwich Spa Community Group were selected by Waitrose to take part in its Community Matters initiative and win a share of the £1,000 on offer.

Throughout September, shoppers were handed a green plastic coin after spending money at the store at

Saltway as they were given the opportunity to vote by inserting it into one of the boxes.

Droitwich Waterways Trust came out on top, winning £580, which chairman Pam Davey said would go towards improvements to the Pamela May charity trip boat.
