MEMBERS of Droitwich Spa Civic Society and town mayor Coun Anne Taft dug deep to plant a lasting memento of HM the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year.

Coun Taft planted a Liquid Amber tree in the grounds of St Richard’s House on Tuesday, November 20, to bring the curtain down on a packed year of events in the town to celebrate 60 years of the Queen’s reign.

The tree was donated by the society and among those present during the service was chairman Stuart Haywood.

Liquid Amber (Liquidambar Styraciflua) is a tree with green foliage in the summer that turns to vivid autumn colours of red and orange at this time of the year

and should be a colourful tribute to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
