A DROITWICH man proved he had the right ingredients for a new business venture after tasting success in a national cookery competition.

Pete Riddleston was selected from hundreds of entrants to take part in a MasterChef-style ‘cook off’ after submitting one of his own recipes for The One Show’s nation’s greatest casserole competition.

The 40-year-old father-of-two claimed a runner-up spot after cooking his classic pork, cider and apple casserole in front of the BBC One cameras and judges, food critic Jay Rayner and TV chef Angela Gray.

“Cooking on the One Show was a fantastic experience and it’s great to think that one of my recipes has been crowned a national favourite,” he said.

Pete is now pursuing his long-standing passion for home cooking through a new venture called ‘Cook with Pete’ where he will offer cookery lessons for beginners and reluctant chefs.

Supper clubs and dinner party catering are also being offered by Peter, visit www.cookwithpete.co.uk for more information.
