Pudsey joins youngsters at Westlands First School for BBC Children in Need. (s)

CARING youngsters at Westlands First School have taken part in a county-wide synchronised massage to help raise cash for BBC’s Children in Need which takes place tonight (Friday).

More than 200 pupils in years one to four were joined by Pudsey Bear for a specially devised activity which saw them draw pictures using hand massage techniques to create different weather scenarios on the back of another pupil.

The fund-raising event was organised by qualified Massage in Schools Programme (MISP) instructors Donna Davis and Elaine Humphries.

The programme helps create a relaxed learning environment for children, with peer group massage sessions taking place between children only, in a supervised school setting.

Deputy headteacher Sue Fairhurst, said: “The children find massage very calming and it helps prepare them for learning.”

* If you are fund-raising for Children in Need today (Friday) e-mail pictures of your event and information to editor@droitwichstandard.co.uk and we’ll try to feature your fund-raising in next Friday’s (November 23) paper.
