PATRONS of the Droitwich Waterways (Pamela May) Trust welcomed Droitwich Spa Marina manager Nick Parkes to their recent meeting at Rotary House.
Mr Parkes took to the floor to speak about the long build-up before construction could begin and the work itself which saw more than 300,000 tonnes of soil excavated.
He said more than 30,000 man hours went into the construction of the 238 space development which opened in March.
Around 100 boats are either already in the marina or booked to take up places in the spring, according to Mr Parkes.
He added the new marina was benefitting local businesses as boat owners are being referred to local pubs, shops and traders by the marina.
