FIENDISHLY frightening costumes and a giant carved pumpkin were among the spooky goings-on at a Droitwich care home on Wednesday (October 31).

Residents and the team at Westmead Care Home dressed to impress for Halloween and manager Sue Stokes oversaw proceedings as ‘head witch’.

The Westmead Close home was transformed into a haunted house for the day with some spooky decorations including the gigantic pumpkin which residents helped to carve.

Bats’ blood soup and witches brew stew, followed by a pumpkin-shaped cake, baked by catering assistant Dot Spencer, were among the tasty treats on offer.

Home manager Sue Stokes said: “There was a huge buzz in the home in the run-up to Halloween and the residents and team had so much fun carving the pumpkin and decorating the home.”
