MEMBERS of the Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa enjoyed a dinner to celebrate the 207th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar at St Andrew’s Town Hotel.

President David Pangbourne read Lord Nelson’s famous prayer before the battle and Captain Colin Wilson OBE gave the toast to ‘The Immortal Memory of Admiral Lord Nelson’.

Captain Wilson’s speech covered the conflict in Europe leading up to Trafalgar and was praised for being a brilliant analysis of history.

Many Naval traditions were incorporated into the evening which concluded with everyone singing sea shanties with Don Walters on the piano and conducted by

Ted Howarth.
