A DROITWICH mum hopes to capitalise on the success of the London 2012 Olympics with the launch of a Zumba class for children to enjoy.

Jane Green, who became a licensed Zumba fitness instructor a year ago, will begin her first ‘ZumbAtomic’ class on Thursday (September 27) at the Community Hall on Heritage Way.

The mum-of-two hopes to highlight the popularity of the fitness craze to a younger audience and get them hooked on the idea of getting active in a fun and exciting way.

ZumbAtomic is a fun exercise class specifically designed for children based on the Zumba craze of song, dance and action which results in an explosion of music, dance and energy.

Jane hopes the 45-minute sessions will help children develop leadership skills, respect, teamwork, a sense of pride and boost their confidence.

“I had never been into fitness and hated sport at school. When I attended my first Zumba class I was amazed that I could do it, and the music was so uplifting,” she added.

“I am also a teacher and knew that children would enjoy the dancing and fun so I trained as a licensed ZumbAtomic instructor.”

The first ‘Lil’Starz’ class will be held at the hall from 3.40pm and is suitable for children between the ages of four and eight-years-old.

Classes cost £3.50 and older children will be able to join the ‘Big Starz’ class which is coming soon. Everyone is welcome and is asked to bring a drink and wear trainers and comfortable clothes.

Anyone who has not attended a class with Jane can take advantage of a free trial session to discover the Zumba craze for themselves.
