Third Droitwich hotel under new ownership

DROITWICH’s historic St Andrews House Hotel has been sold in deal worth almost £1million by Birmingham-based firm Christie and Co.

The Grade II listed hotel on Worcester Road has been sold by previous owners John Kirk and Derek Hine to an un-named London buyer for £995,000.

The pair had owned the landmark hotel for more than nine years but put the business up for sale in order to retire.

St Andrews House is the third Spa hotel in a fortnight to change hands after the futures of the Chateau Impney and Raven Hotels’ were secured when they were bought by Greyfort Properties Ltd earlier this month.

The contemporary Georgian town house was built in the 1820s and is situated on the edge of Droitwich town centre.

It includes 31 en-suite rooms, a bar, restaurant and full conference and function facilities as well as the ability to host weddings.

Gavin Wright, who handled this sale at Christie and Co, said: "We sold St Andrews Town Hotel following a successful open marketing campaign, during which we arranged 13 formal viewings and received a total of six offers.

“The buyer, who lives in London, first saw the property on our website and, after his offer was accepted, acted very quickly and managed to exchange contracts within 10 working days,” he added.
